Is Stanley Fischer Jewish?

Stanley Fischer

Well, to make a long story short, Stanley Fischer is Jewish!

Since Stanley Fischer's mother is Jewish, and in Orthodox Judaism and Conservative Judaism, those with a Jewish mother (or those who underwent a halakhic conversion) are considered Jewish, then that makes him Jewish. His father is Jewish too.

Stanley Fischer was born on October 15, 1943 in Mazabuka, Northern Rhodesia (now Zambia).

Fischer served as Vice Chair of the Federal Reserve from 2014 to 2017, and as governor of the Bank of Israel from 2005 to 2013. He previously served as chief economist at the World Bank.
